Hello,
I hope you had a great summer! As we are preparing for Fall, I had the following
questions and information for you. Please respond at your earliest convenience.
1.
May
we drop off materials to your counseling office in September? In the
past, we have just dropped in, so if you would prefer we schedule a
time, please let
me know. If not, I am more than happy to mail the materials and
information to you.
2.
I
know some schools are fully virtual and some are in-person. Those that
are in-person, will your school be allowing outside visitors?
a. What is your school set-up for the semester/academic
year? (Fully virtual, in-person, half virtual/half in-person, etc.)
b. If so, how many per term?
c.
If not, are you open to a virtual visit by a recruiter and student ambassador?
3.
Are
there any events you are holding this Fall that you would like an
ambassador or recruiter to attend? For example Admissions Day, FAFSA
Night, college night.
4.
USU Blanding is still planning to host a Counselor Conference and Open House.
a. USU Logan is hosting a counselor conference
virtually. You are more than welcome to attend that conference, but it is geared toward the Logan campus.
b.
USU Blanding will provide more information about
our counselor conference as soon as possible. We are in a unique
situation where most of our schools are within the Four Corners and we
want to make sure everyone is safe due to COVID-19 restrictions.
c.
Blanding's
Open House is going to run a little differently this year. It is on
Sept 25, 5 pm-7 pm. Students will need to register for a time spot so we
can limit
the number of people in the building and sanitize in between. I am truly
going to need your help to advertise this to your students. They can
find the registration at this link.
5. Recruitment is going to be very different this year because I
cannot visit and meet your students in-person. Is there a way I can interact with them throughout the year?
a. Would you be able to provide me a list of emails
and phone numbers? If not, that's okay.
b. Would you be willing to share my Calendly appointment
scheduler? Students can schedule a 15-minute phone call or 30-minute zoom meeting.
c.
I will be participating in the Arizona College
Consortium Virtual Fair. It is free for ANYONE (not just Arizona).
Students, parents, and counselors can register and participate.
